This is National Cycle Network Route 67, which forms a linking part to Sheffield of the Trans-Pennine Trail.

Good wide cycleway continues here
NCN67 cycleway continues here along the flat.
Sustrans gate on the NCN67. This one has been opened so that it can easily be bypassed.
Decorated wall side and underpass.
Cycleway goes down and to the left alongside a decorated wall.
After cycling through miles of green space its a bit of a shock to come out so close to a big urban motorway.

Contemplating the final 5 miles into Sheffield (they were great and went quite quickly!)
Another cycle access gate, the mobility scooter got through this gap too - after she folded in her wing mirror.
Sheffield City Centre only 5 more miles to the left.
The other sign is vandalised and needs some more over-stickers.

Its OK to get off and walk for a bit - especially, if like this Cambridge cyclist, hills are a bit of a shock.
Paths wide enough for pleasant side by side cycling.
These bicycle access narrowings vary a bit some quite tight, others loose. There's a horse step over on the left.

Another narrowing and a horse step over continue this bridleway / NCN route. Sadly the noticeboard is damaged and the fence warns of anti-climb paint.
On the right there's a bicycle access and a step-over for horses onto this bridleway.
Riding along the NCN 67 only a small gradient here.
Site of Birley East Colliery 1888-1943
This wide cycleway on NCN 67 across open land was once the site of Birley East Colliery 1888-1943.

Another restriction - necessary here to stop motor vehicles getting onto the bridge behind the camera.

These narrowings are necessary, but to be honest a bit wearing, along this cycle route.
Access to the cycle route here could benefit from a dropped kerb here.
Traffic calming on the NCN67 route.
NCN on road section - there is some traffic calming along here.
Necessary restriction on NCN routes to permit cycles, but prohibit motorised vehicles.
Out of the country cycleway and back onto the road - an cars routinely parked across the pavement.
The signs here are a bit faded and unclear.

Joining the Trans Pennine Trail (TPT). Left for Beighton (where we went) and right to Rother Valley country park.
The cycle route has narrowed significantly here but still good surface.
